Chameleon’s Journey 2023 is Almost Here and We Want You to be a Part of It!

Started in 2000, Chameleon’s Journey is an overnight grief camp for children and teens (ages 7-17) who are coping with the death of a family member or other significant person in their life. Through grief education, physical activity, and the opportunity to meet those with like experiences, campers learn coping skills and how to receive support in a caring, trusting environment.

We will once again take to the shores of beautiful Camp Thunderbird in Lake Wyle, SC on October 14-15, 2023 for our 24th year and it promises to be a good one!

2023 Camp Highlights:

  • This year, our theme is Grief Around the World. We will be learning about world situations that bring about grief as well as specific cultural observances.

  • Camp Thunderbird has a brand-new Alpine ropes course with a zipline through the woods, and our huge inflatable obstacle course will once again be on site to challenge both campers and staff.

  • We have an amazing music therapist joining our staff this year and a new exercise experience that will focus on tai chi and other non-combat martial arts movements.

  • There are 90-minute classes for parents on both Saturday and Sunday morning and we will commemorate our time together with a closing ceremony and balloon release.
