Thank you for your interest in volunteering for our 2025 Chameleon’s Journey Grief Camps. The same application will be used for our Spring Day Camp on Saturday, April 5, at the Hemby YMCA Program Center in Charlotte, Fall Overnight Camp on October 10-12 at the YMCA Camp Thurderbird on Lake Wylie, and our Fall Day Camp in Greenville, SC, on Saturday, October 25, at the Staunton Bridge Community Center. In addition, a national background check will be required for every volunteer (a separate link will be sent for this background check for all potential volunteers outside of VIA HP). Upon completion of the application, all interested first-time volunteers will be contacted by either our Director or Assistant Director for a screening interview. Returnees will also be contacted to verify interest and placement. Volunteer positions include group counselors, assistants, “all-abouts,” and registration specialists. Parents/Guardians of campers are not eligible to serve on CJ staff. Fall Overnight Camp volunteers are asked to stay in sleep cabins at Camp Thunderbird unless granted an exception by camp leadership.
